At Edge of Seven, we prioritize creating a safe, sanitary, and meaningful experience.
First, we require each of our volunteers to provide proof of travel insurance before leaving for an Edge of Seven adventure. In addition, we recommend that each volunteer get all necessary vaccines before departure and encourage participants to visit the Center for Disease Control website for an up-to-date list.
Next, when selecting host families or camping areas in rural communities for the volunteer program, we ensure that the living environment is sanitary and that there is access to water. We provide boiled water at the project site daily for volunteers and one meal per day that is influenced by Western cuisine. While the living conditions are extremely basic, it is our top priority to keep volunteers healthy and well-nourished during their program.
Finally, we bring medical staff to remote areas to support the personal health of our volunteer crew. There are seldom serious or extended illnesses, but volunteers can consult with an Edge of Seven staff member if they are experiencing any personal health problems.
Edge of Seven is a 501c3 public charity. All donations are tax-deductible.
